Windows 98 Bootable CD Images

Below you’ll find several different bootable CD images in ISO format for Windows 98.

To create the bootable CD you will need to download the ISO image below. You will then need to use a CD Burning application such as Nero or EZ-CD Creator to burn the ISO to a CD. Once finished you can simply insert the CD and reboot the computer.

Hi,
I need to install windows ME but I just have winME on my harddisk and dont have bootable cd.
I am currently running windows XP SP2. When I try to run the winME setup from within XP it displays an erroe meassage -
“Setup can not run from within Windows 2000. Restart your computer using windows 95 or windows 98 and then run setup. Otherwise start MS DOS and then run setup from MS DOS command prompt.”

Please help me what should I need to do now to install win ME. I have formatted one of my partition as FAT32 and the remaining are NTFS.

Using the FDISK utility, you can partition drives. You will lose any existing data on the hard drive.

Thanks. I’m using ubunto loaded on a mac to make cd’s to try to get an old PC i found at a used junk shop working. I have no working floppy drives other then one in old machine so making boot floppy is out of question. Also can’t run PC exe files. Thanks for the ISO. The straight files on .zip files would rock, and the win98 install CD if its do-able.

wait, what exactly does a win 98 boot disk do? does it take you to ms dos? can you format your hard disk with this? im here because i have a win xp pc but it doesnt have drive a floppy drive, and win xp cd, aint formating the hard drive, i wanna manually format my hard drive thru dos w/ command format c: but the dos image didnt work, SHIT!

Hi All

I have a Win 98 SE image which is Non-Bootable.
I want to create a botable Win98se CD which should start the win 98 setup file when I insert the CD on Booting of system or when I restart the system.
Now I have downloaded the win98se boot image.
Should I Add this to the image of win98se and Burn the image on cd to get a bootable win98se cd or something different apprach I have to use for it.

This Win98 DOS bootable CD works great!!!! Before this I need to boot up with my Win98 bootable floppies to goto DOS to restore my WinXP ghost image. ( I do this once every few months when the PC becomes very slow ).

Since floppies does not last very long in humid condition, have a Win98 boot cd is just great. I booted with a MS DOS 6.22 boot CD initially but it does not recognize my FAT32 partition where I store my Ghost image of the operating system.

Thanks a lot..

How do I need additional software like the Ghost or others into this boot CD ?

I’m looking to create a bootable WIN98 Disk with a startup batch file and one program.

Once the computer is running it never access’s the hard drive again. By booting from the disk I can eliminate the HD I see from this web site how to create a bootable WIN89 CD, but how do I put the other files that I need on it at the same time?

Note: Computer runs for years and when the HD fails the platters rattle around in the drive casing. If you stop the computer to see what the noise is, No Reboot.
